Arroz Blanco
White Rice

Ingredients

4 cups water

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

3 1/2 cups rice

* 1/2 cup vegetable oil

 

* You can use any kind of oil that you'd like: vegetable oil, canola oil, corn oil, or olive oil.

Procedure

1.  Boil water with oil over medium heat.

2. In the mean time wash the rice then and add to the boiling water and stir.

3. Add the salt.  Let the rice cook until the water evaporates. (The rice will look mushy at this time).

4. Stir the rice, cover it, and lower the flame .Then let cook for about 20 minutes.

5. Stir the rice again and check to see if it is fully cooked.  The water should be completely evaporated and the rice completely cooked.
